The brief
Convergence is an award winning local telecoms company based in Cambridgeshire. We were approached to design their website, brochure and advertisements.

Points of interest
  • This was an opportunity to completely overhaul the existing Convergence designs which did not do justice to our client's reputation nor reflect the organisation's image.
  • Convergence provides sophisticated telecoms systems - it's a technical and complicated industry. It was important not to confuse or intimidate the client's target market with jargon or large amounts of text.
The process
  1. We began with the advertising materials - leaflets, brochures, flyers etc.   The existing designs were extremely cluttered and text-intensive with no visuals. It was vital to present a clean, simpler, user-friendly image.
  2. We set out to simplify wherever possible starting with the judicious use of visuals to replace a large proportion of text where appropriate.
  3. We introduced greater structure and logic in how information was presented and set out.
  4. Next, we aimed for a clean, contemporary and minimalist design that used a lot of white space, to reflect the technical and precise nature of our client's service.
  5. We then turned our attention to Convergence's website.  The old design lacked coherence and navigational logic. Furthermore, it was overloaded with text such that the user would feel overwhelmed with information.
  6. We went back to basics with the website design.  The purpose of the site was to sell our client's products and services. It needed to be highly efficient and specifically designed for this purpose.  As such, we deployed best e-commerce practice throughout the site to produce a design that was highly functional and effective as an online business website.
The result
Convergence uses our designs to this day in the fast moving world of telecommunications.
